Well thank goodness we’ve got through February safely ! I was recently commenting in our Churches Together leaders lunch that there seemed to be lots of niggles and bad news during February and one of the leaders informed me that it is known as ‘Sad month’ and from his previous background in mental health…was the month when most mental health cases were admitted into hospital

Which may explain why my beloved Arsenal FC had such a bad February ! Three 0-0 results in the League was not good. Fleet Town FC didn’t fair much better with two league defeats 

And in the midst of that, Lent started at the end of February ! All that ‘giving things up’ (one of our church young people is giving up VEGETABLES for Lent !) must make people even sadder (especially those giving up chocolate !)

The good news,though, is that the Christian gospel is always good news ! No matter how we feel, the good news of God’s love for each of us is ALWAYS true and NEVER changes. The Christian gospel also reminds us that sometimes to know real joy,you first have to go through the sad times…like the sorrow of Good Friday before the joy of Easter Day

Which is why I hope it will be true that February was not good for AFC and FTFC so that we can look forward to the end of season and lots of joy when we win more cups ! we will see…….
